HUMAN ENERGY PROTOCOL™ #001
THINK → Better Decisions

THE DECISION ENERGY PROTOCOL™

Are You Making Decisions in Survival Mode or Strategic Mode?

"Does this decision accelerate my objective, or is it a sophisticated distraction?"

1-Minute Self-Assessment

Think about the last important decision you made.

Which of the following best describes your decision process?

☐ I responded immediately.

☐ I relied mostly on intuition.

☐ I felt under pressure.

☐ I didn't explore alternative options.

☐ I didn't challenge my first conclusion.

If you answered "Yes" to most of these, your brain was likely operating in System 1—fast, automatic thinking.

MAX ENERGY INSIGHT

Nobel Prize-winning psychologist Daniel Kahneman showed that our brains operate through two different thinking systems.

⚡ System 1

• Fast

• Automatic

• Intuitive

• Energy-efficient

• More vulnerable to bias

🧠 System 2

• Slow

• Deliberate

• Analytical

• Requires more mental energy

• Produces higher-quality decisions

THE MAX ENERGY PROTOCOL™

Before making an important decision, ask yourself one question:

"Does this decision move me closer to my objective, or is my brain simply choosing the easiest path?"

This simple question activates deliberate thinking before you act.

3-Minute Practice

Before your next important decision:

1. Define it.

What decision are you about to make?

2. Pause.

Take 60 seconds before committing.

3. Challenge it.

What assumption are you making?

4. Invite a different perspective.

What is the strongest argument against your decision?

This final step reflects Kahneman's recommendation to protect dissent and question the decision-making process rather than simply seeking agreement.

• What is the most important decision you'll make today?

• Is this decision intuitive or evidence-based?

• Which assumption haven't you tested?

• What evidence would change your mind?

TODAY'S CHALLENGE

For your next important decision,

pause for just 60 more seconds.

Then ask yourself:

"Am I making this decision, or is my brain making it for me?"

Inspired by Daniel Kahneman's research on System 1 and System 2 thinking.
